Business Continuity Plan

Dear Valued Partner,

As circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) evolve, we want to keep you updated on what Western Asset is doing to protect the health and safety of you and our employees and to ensure business continuity for our clients.

We continue to closely monitor the global impact of COVID-19 and take precautionary measures aligned with the latest information and global guidance from governments, public health officials and infectious disease specialists. This includes suspending business travel and visitors to our facilities, deploying an enhanced hygiene program across our global operations, and establishing clear guidelines for employees who might feel ill or have potentially been exposed to high-risk individuals. Anyone who has recently traveled to a country of concern, or has come into contact with someone who has, must work remotely for 14 days and complete a health assessment before returning to work.

Although no Western Asset employee has tested positive for COVID-19, out of an abundance of caution, we are activating business continuity strategies so that we can take appropriate social distancing measures. We have asked a proportion of our global staff to work from home and another group to work from our disaster recovery facilities until further notice, with a third group of staff who will continue to come into the office. Our virtual office technology enables us to work together and with our partners across locations, through video conferencing and other functionality that supports our collaborative culture. Our business continuity plans are tested regularly, and we recently revalidated them based on the circumstances around this issue. We are confident this approach will allow us to continue to operate seamlessly.
