Investment Philosophy:
Bartlett & Co.'s guiding principle is that stock prices follow business performance over the long haul. Thus, they seek long-term ownership of excellent companies. Their research and stock selection criteria emphasize a variety of fundamental factors, and their favored companies generally possess some combination of the following characteristics: financial strength, excellent potential for growth of earnings and dividends, attractive profitability characteristics, sustainable competitive advantage, and shareholder oriented management.
Bartlett focuses on stocks where valuations are below normal. As a rule, Bartlett's companies will have below-average valuations in relation to market benchmarks or industry peer groups. This is usually manifested in lower earnings and cash flow multiples and higher dividend yields.
