Brian S. Posner is a co-Founder and the Managing Partner of Hygrove Partners LLC. Prior to founding Hygrove Partners in 2000, Mr. Posner served as a mutual fund portfolio manager or analyst for the previous thirteen years, first at Fidelity Investments from 1987 to 1996 and later at Warburg Pincus Asset Management/Credit Suisse Asset Management from 1997 to 1999.
While at Fidelity Investments, Mr. Posner was the portfolio manager of the Fidelity Equity Income II Fund from 1992 to 1996 and the Fidelity Value Fund from 1990 until 1992. He also was the portfolio manager of the Select Life Insurance, Select Property-Casualty Insurance and Select Energy Portfolios before assuming responsibilities for the Value Fund and Equity Income II Fund. From 1987 to 1990, he was an oil, insurance, and financial services analyst at Fidelity Investments.
More recently, Mr. Posner was a Managing Director of Credit Suisse Asset Management and served as the senior investment manager of the Value Equity Group, the co-portfolio manager of the Warburg Pincus Growth & Income Fund and the portfolio manager of the Warburg Pincus Institutional Value Fund and the Warburg Pincus Trust: Growth and Income Fund. Prior to the acquisition of Warburg Pincus Asset Management ("WPAM") by Credit Suisse Asset Management in July 1999, Mr. Posner was co-Chief Investment Officer, Director of Research and Chairman of the Global Asset Allocation Committee at WPAM. He was also a member of WPAM's Executive Operating Committee.
From August 2000 through April 2003, Mr. Posner served as a member of the Board of Directors for Sotheby's Holdings, Inc. He is currently a member of the Board of Visitors for the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University.
Mr. Posner received his undergraduate degree in history from Northwestern University in 1983 and his M.B.A. in finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1987.
